Abstract

We report Pyrenula hirsuta for the first time in South American from neotropical lowland rain forest of Yasuní National Park. P. hirsuta is characterized by ascospores with many hyaline cilia and 5–7 septate. This specie grow as epiphyte in smooth bark of trees. Here, we provide information about ecology, distribution, and a morphological description of this species.
